Slack Tide

Slack Tide oil on panel, 12x16, black float-framed, $650 plus $25. insured 2-day shipping

Brooding late afternoon sky reflects on calm waters - an inlet at high tide, just before it turns, calms and soothes the viewer with balance. I catch my husband stealing glances serenely walking past the easel.

YAMA  OUCHI

This old house looks down a rolling hay field with Daisies, Indian Paintbrush and Blueberry Bushes into Somes Harbor on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. It hangs prominently at the current Members' Annual Juried Exhibit at the Newport Art Museum. I am pleased and proud to show you this painting as what I consider my best work of 2013.

Do-over of Think Summer

Summer Shadows
oil · 12 x 12 · $350*

Back in action! I am still having a little trouble posting from the cell phone, so I'll retell the story: Raspberry picking on a hot day, my eyes came to rest on this little field which seemed to go forever. I loved the deep cool shadows enough to drop everything and get out the paints. So much for the berries – I'd eaten them nearly all anyway.

I see this painting each day as I put out my OPEN flag. I thought you might enjoy a reminder of warmer days to come. So if you have an empty spot on a rich blue, yellow or green wall and think you might like to own it, let's talk! You can reach me at libbygilpatric@gmail.com or grab it fast through PayPal by clicking
*If you wish to purchase this painting through PayPal, the price listed there is $450. I will return $100 to amend the quoted price and the shipping is on me.

Cape Cod Saltmarsh SOLD

Saltmarsh
oil, 12 x 16"

Sold at a new little gallery and gift shop in Barnstable called Mosees. This makes my weekend!
If only I could go back there and recreate the day and scene from the summer of 2010. It was July and  hot, and that water was irresistable. The marsh is in Brewster, where a tidal creek flows in and out of
Cape Cod Bay. I was tempted to paint in the little sloop that we caught waking up just in time to skedaddle before the tide ran out, but they escaped being left high and dry! I stuck around long enough to capture the remaining higher water level. Such a happy memory of a wonderful place on a great day!

Popped

Corn Wall
oil
8 x 24"

Popped right up on my radar. I must fetch it from a regional show at the Mystic Art Center -- um, how to do this now that my weekend afternoons are to be minding my Studio/Gallery. Meanwhile, Corn Wall will be doing a slow dance with its soul mate Beets and Beds. I'll show you that one next time. Both paintings are available for $750 each. Just click on the Pay Now button below and chose Pay Pal or your credit card payable to Pay Pal, or contact me here to arrange another way to pay.
