A new old twist for me -- a throwback style. I unleashed my imagination and maybe should have restrained it. Surf and turf might be served on a platter, decorated with surf and turf motifs-- hens, a cow, rows of fresh caught fish shown in a catch of the day shop in Thunderbolt, Georgia, an interesting waterfront neighborhood in Savannah. For five years wanted to paint those fish and my Virgo mind went straight to the photos (always know what's buried in the clutter)! Then I added the handles of repurposed 3/8"dock line, newly whipped cut ends by Yours Truly with nostalgia sailing days, added brass-ring bolts and tapped in securely with tiny brass escutcheon pins. It's a pretend platter as I wouldn't want to eat from a platter of unfinished acrylic paint. I plan to varnish it with food-safe Varnish in three weeks. So if you want to purchase this painting that finishing trick comes with the purchase. Please contact me if so.
If you're near Westport MA Saturday-Sunday 10-4, head on out to this surprising show at 1710 Main Road, Westport- less than a mile from Westport River Harbor. I'd love to hear your comments!
