a little wet at the time of shooting the photo, hence the glare toning down the color. Note the thick 

paint trail left by deft knife painting.

From Bellows' Field

Trees, greens, a view of the sea and cows dotted the landscape of George Bellows' field.

Some of us went there to paint, but rain ruined the work. Here is another painting after revisiting about five years later. See it on view now at the Conanicut Island Art Association exhibit "Painterly," at Jamestown Philomenian Library at Town Hall on Narragansett Avenue through May 11.
